I’m just so incredibly grateful for the character of Frodo Baggins.
He embodies the real meaning of a hero. Frodo shows me again and again that a hero is not without blemish. That a hero does not have to be incredibly strong or wield a sword. That one may stumble, fall down and cry.
He is not perfect. He does everything he can. One of the most important features about him is that he does not kill. He makes sure nobody gets hurt. He forgives. He endures even though he’s terribly afraid. He knows what he’s fighting for.
Frodo does not need a sword, no weapon. He is pure and wise. Loving and selfless. He knows that the journey will cost his life and is constantly caring for all the others while he is in the greatest danger.
He gives me hope. That’s true heroism.
