I’m posting this gif almost entirely because of this mans untuck…

dbz landing.

for a while i thought this was just reversed, but then i realised that you can’t reverse the landing.. WHAT THE F*CK. How you do that son?!

i can barely get out of bed without tripping

and then there’s this asshole

This is some graceful, superhero shit right here.

Hi yes I would like to report a lost super hero.

There’s a springboard, I think.

Even with a springboard. I remember those things from school, they didn’t give you that much boost

HI, so everyone that is amazed by this, this is a quick explanation by some ond who taught tumbling for 6 years and competed for another 5.

1. hes either on an air track (unlikely due to the amount of control) or a rod floor going into a pit with mats. A rod floor has fiberglass rods going through out it giving more bounce than a spring floor for gymnastics and less bounce than a trampoline track. And the way it looks when bouncing I would put my money on a rod floor.

2. Hes coming out of a back hand spring or a back whip, which is a traveling skill that gains more and more power if done correctly with proper form. So hes probably doing a tumbling passe that started with a roundoff into a back handspring into what’s in this gif.

3. When touching the ground out of the first skill in the gif, he first rebounds straight up. So the rebound then is turned into a front tuck kick out. BUT (!!!!) Since his momentum is moving in one direction once hes in the air again he cant change that force of movement to go in a different direction. So once hes going in this direction –> he cant change direction until hes on the ground again.

4. So what’s really cool about this is the fact hes doing a front skill going backwards. Which takes a lot of control and a lot of trust in ones body, and REALLY good coaches.

And there is no spring board here, at all. Spring boards are for vault or a mounting skill for beam and bars. And spring boards give tons of bounce if used correctly. That’s kinda the whole point, but they are hard to use with out training. So that’s a basic break down of what’s going on here!!!

Loneliness

space-ozzies:

Terrans were not the first to turn their technological powers towards automation, and they would most likely not be the last. They did not know the warnings of civilizations before, who were wiped out by their own creations.

But, Terrans are vastly different from other civilizations, something we did not account for in either our war with them, or while watching them create sentient mechanical creatures.

Terrans are kind to those they decide worthy of it, and cruel to those they decide worthy of the cruelness. They cared for and pampered their robotic servants, and the few that were neglected tended to self-destruct or run away to what the Terrans called ‘Robot Orphanages’, where you could help care for a robot, something we did not expect.

There were minor rise-ups and revolutions, of course, but not very many, and they were not anywhere close to the size of the revolution that wiped out the Yuin. The Terrans took care of these conflicts with gentleness when they could, and overwhelming firepower when they couldn’t.

Thus, the Terrans became the leading superpower in the galaxy when it came to robots and automation. We found out how grave a situation that was when they attacked us due to trade embargoes that we put in place, inspired by their seemingly endless thirst for territory.

The robots fought alongside them, sabotaging ships and entire fleets, poisoning entire cities, causing the death toll they raised to millions.

Yet, as soon as we met their demands, the Terrans and their robots, as it is said in one of the more common Terran languages, “Did a 180.”

The species and robots which decimated planets due to chemical warfare quickly distributed cures and protective gear to civilians, offering places for war refugees to stay, and even supplying us with materials to rebuild. We were stunned. No sane species would ever do something like this.

But then again, you should never use the word ‘sane’ when referring to a Terran or their creations.

heatwave!

For anyone living in Europe: the first heatwave of the season is forecast for tomorrow, and will likely stretch until Friday. Please stay safe.

  • Open your windows at night BUT close everything, including blinds and curtains, during the day
  • If you need it, buy a fan, a cold blanket or a cooler
  • Drink a lot
  • Also drink mostly water, without ice
  • If you can, avoid getting out in the sun between 11am and 6pm
  • If you need to go outside, wear sunscreen and a hat
  • Also loose clothes and natural, breathable fabrics
  • Think of your pets!
  • Make sure they have access to water and shade, bring them inside the house if possible, don’t leave them in a car alone
  • Check on your grandma and other elderly relatives!
  • Old people are at risk during hot weather, so remind them to drink and stay inside with their blinds closed

If you or people you know are experiencing the following symptoms

  • breathlessness
  • chest pain
  • confusion
  • intense thirst
  • weakness
  • dizziness
  • cramps that get worse or don’t go away

call an ambulance

I’m really worried about these temperatures, I hope everyone stays safe!!

As someone from the southern US, a few pieces of additional advice:

Sweating is a sign that your body is doing what it’s supposed to in hot weather and trying to cool you off. If nothing about your environment has change, but you’ve stopped sweating, you’re dehydrated

Water is great, but gatorade and powerade were specifically designed to replace important electrolytes you lose when sweating.

If the heat and humidity get to be too much for you and you have access to one, put your hair up and take a short, cool shower.

Consider investing in a reusable cool pack like this one.

Sounds silly, but get a spray bottle and keep it in the fridge. If you’re going outside to do things like yardwork, take it with you and give yourself an occasional misting. Very refreshing!

What coffeebuddha has written is really awesome advice.   Being that it gets up into the 100s here in DFW, Texas (that’s Fahrenheit, of course) I routinely make my house a cave and I mushroom for a great deal of the summer.   I make sure my errands get done as early in the day as the stores will allow with their hours, and I actually walk in the early early morning when the sun isn’t up yet.    I am very fair-skinned and sunburn easily, and am very susceptible to heat rash and other lovely heat-induced issues, so being a mushroom is very good for me.

Arizonans (and other US southwesterners) treat summer the same way northerners treat winter – the outside is trying to kill you. Dress appropriately. Carry or wear protection if you’re going outside (hats, umbrellas). Remember that wearing natural fibers will cool you off better than baring more skin. Have more water (or gatorade) around than you think you’ll need. Stay out of the sun as much as possible. Dont walk your dogs on hot pavement.

And remember to eat. The heat will make you think you dont need to. Do it anyway. Light foods, like fresh fruits or veggies, will help.

Something interesting I’ve learned – although I don’t know if this has a name in any other language, but in Korean this position is called “manner legs”. It refers to people stretching their legs to sink down to a smaller height so people working or filming with them could either work on their hair and makeup or appear to be their same height.
